Rate of pension

Section 121 sets out the weekly rate of invalidity pension and the additional increases payable for dependants and certain personal circumstances.

  • The basic weekly rate of invalidity pension is €259.50.
  • Additional amounts are payable for a qualified adult (€185.40) and for qualified children (€58.00 for each child under 12; €78.00 for each child aged 12 or over).
  • Further increases apply where the recipient lives alone (€22.00), has reached age 80 (€20.00), or ordinarily resides on an island off the coast of Ireland.
  • An extra €83.00 is payable where a qualified adult reached pensionable age before 2 January 2014.
