Disqualifications

Section 57 sets out the circumstances in which a woman loses entitlement to health and safety benefit.

  • Health and safety benefit is paid to pregnant or breastfeeding women who cannot work due to workplace risks.
  • A woman is disqualified from receiving this benefit if she takes up any occupation during the benefit period.
  • The only permitted activities are domestic tasks carried out within her own household.
  • Any paid employment or other work outside the home will result in loss of entitlement.
