Companies Act 2014 section 1325

Consequential repeals

Section 1325 provides the mechanism for repealing earlier statutes and revoking charters or instruments that are superseded when an unregistered company registers as a PLC under this Part of the Act.

  • Statutes listed in Part 1 of Schedule 15 are repealed to the extent specified in the third column of that Part.
  • Charters or instruments listed in Part 2 of Schedule 15 are revoked to the extent specified in the second column of that Part.
  • The section synchronises the repeal of previous company law provisions with the registration of an unregistered company as a PLC.
  • Schedule 15 serves as the definitive reference for identifying exactly which earlier laws and instruments are affected and to what extent.
