Staff of Authority, etc.

Section 944K sets out the rules governing the appointment, grading, remuneration and terms of service of staff of the Corporate Enforcement Authority, and the delegation of functions to its officers.

  • The Authority may appoint staff and determine grades and numbers, subject to ministerial approval with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform.
  • The Authority may delegate specific functions to officers in writing, and any officer performing Authority functions is presumed to be authorised unless the contrary is shown.
  • All staff of the Authority are civil servants, and their terms, conditions, remuneration and allowances are determined by the Authority with ministerial approval.
  • The Authority is the appropriate authority in relation to its staff for the purposes of the Civil Service Regulation Acts 1956 to 2005 and the Act of 2004.
