Director shall report as required

Section 955 deals with the obligation of the Director of Corporate Enforcement to report on the performance of their functions when requested by the Minister or by an Oireachtas committee.

  • The Minister may, at any time and without prior notice, require the Director of Corporate Enforcement to provide information about how they are carrying out their functions.
  • The Director is obliged to comply with any such ministerial request for information.
  • The Director must also, when requested, appear before and account to a committee of the Oireachtas regarding the performance of their functions.
  • This section has been repealed by the Companies (Corporate Enforcement Authority) Act 2021, reflecting the replacement of the individual Director role with the Corporate Enforcement Authority.
