Public notice of intention to strike company off register

Section 730 deals with the Registrar's power to publish a formal public notice in the CRO Gazette of the intention to strike a company off the register, where the company has failed to take the required remedial action within the earlier deadline.

• Where a company has failed to take the remedial step required by the Registrar's earlier notice, the Registrar may publish a public notice in the CRO Gazette of the intention to strike the company off the register.
• The public notice must state the ground for striking off, the remedial step required, the deadline for taking it, and a warning that failure to act will result in strike off and dissolution.
• The deadline specified in the public notice must be at least 28 days after the date the notice is published, giving the company a further opportunity to comply.
• If the company still fails to take the remedial step by the new deadline, the Registrar may proceed to strike the company off the register, at which point the company will be dissolved.
