Strategy statement and work programme

Section 944U requires the Corporate Enforcement Authority to prepare a three-year strategy statement and an annual work programme, both of which must be submitted to the Minister.

  • The Authority must prepare and submit a strategy statement to the Minister shortly after establishment and every three years thereafter, covering key objectives, outputs, strategies and resource usage
  • Each strategy statement (except the first) must review the outcomes and effectiveness of the previous one, and may include other matters directed by the Minister (excluding ongoing investigations or prosecutions)
  • The Minister must lay the strategy statement before both Houses of the Oireachtas, and the Authority must publish it on its website as soon as practicable thereafter
  • At least one month before each financial year, the Authority must submit an annual work programme to the Minister setting out objectives, priorities and strategies for the year ahead, in line with the current strategy statement
