Expenses

Section 14 deals with how the costs of administering the Companies Act 2014 are funded and who must approve that expenditure.

  • The Minister responsible for company law bears the expenses of administering the Act.
  • These expenses must be approved by the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform before they can be incurred.
  • Funding comes from moneys provided by the Oireachtas (the Irish parliament).
  • There is no open-ended spending authority; expenditure is limited to the extent sanctioned.
