Assignment and transfer of staff to Authority

Section 944J deals with the automatic assignment and subsequent formal transfer of civil servants who previously worked in the office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement to the newly established Corporate Enforcement Authority.

• Civil servants serving in the office of the Director before the establishment day are automatically assigned to the Authority's staff from that day onwards, subject to the membership conditions in section 944F(4).
• The Minister may designate in writing which of these automatically assigned staff members are to become formal members of staff of the Authority.
• Each designation must specify an effective date from which the named individual formally becomes a member of the Authority's staff.
• Once designated, the individual becomes and remains a member of the Authority's staff from the effective date specified by the Minister.
