Registrar may require evidence as to nature of company

Section 1341 deals with the Registrar's power to request evidence to determine whether a company seeking registration under this Chapter is a joint stock company.

  • The Registrar has discretion to request whatever evidence they consider necessary.
  • The purpose is to establish whether a company proposing to register is or is not a joint stock company.
  • There is no limitation on the type or extent of evidence the Registrar may seek.
  • This provision re-enacts section 333 of the Companies Act 1963.
