Key intangible resources

Section 1589 requires directors of applicable companies to disclose key intangible resources in their directors' report and explain how those resources underpin the business model and generate value.

  • Directors of applicable companies must include information on key intangible resources in their directors' report prepared under Chapter 9 of Part 6
  • Intangible resources are assets without physical substance, such as intellectual property, brands, patents, data, expertise and relationships
  • The report must explain how the company's business model fundamentally depends on these intangible resources
  • The report must also explain how these intangible resources are a source of value creation for the company
