Penalty for default of liquidator in making certain accounts and returns

Section 651 establishes the criminal penalty that applies when a liquidator fails to prepare or file the periodic accounts and returns required under the Act.

  • Liquidators are required to prepare and file periodic accounts, abstracts, statements and returns as specified by the Companies Act 2014.
  • Failure to prepare or file any of these documents constitutes a default under the Act.
  • A liquidator who is in default commits a category 4 offence.
  • The provision applies to all such filing and reporting obligations imposed on liquidators throughout the Act.
