Companies Act 2014 section 888A

Cases in which director must supply certain data

Section 888A requires directors to provide their Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) β€” or alternative identification approved by the Registrar β€” when filing certain key company documents with the Companies Registration Office.

  • Directors must include their PPSN on applications to incorporate a company, annual returns, and notifications of changes to directors or secretaries.
  • Where a director does not hold a PPSN, they must instead provide alternative identification information as determined by the Registrar.
  • This obligation applies notwithstanding any restrictions on the use of PPSNs contained in the Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005.
  • Failure to comply without just cause is a category 4 offence under the Companies Act 2014.
