Companies Act 2014 section 1384

Application of transparency (regulated markets) law to certain markets

Section 1384 allows the Minister to extend transparency rules that normally apply to regulated markets so that they also apply to other specified markets, subject to confirmation by the Oireachtas.

• The Minister may, after consulting the competent authority, make a provisional order extending transparency (regulated markets) law to a specified market
• The order may include modifications to those transparency rules as the Minister considers appropriate
• This power relates to rules arising under the EU Transparency (Regulated Markets) Directive
• A provisional order has no legal effect unless and until it is confirmed by an Act of the Oireachtas
