Annual report by Registrar

Section 890 deals with the obligation on the Registrar of Companies to prepare and submit an annual written report on their activities to the Minister, and the subsequent laying of that report before the Oireachtas.

  • The Registrar must submit a written annual report of activities to the Minister within four months of each year end.
  • The Minister must lay copies of the report before both Houses of the Oireachtas within six months of the year end.
  • The Minister may, after consulting the Registrar, prescribe the format and content requirements of the report.
  • The six-month deadline for laying the report before the Oireachtas is reduced from seven months under previous legislation.
