Companies Act 2014 section 961

Meetings and business of Review Group

Section 961 deals with how the Company Law Review Group's work programme is set by the Minister, and how the Group organises its meetings and procedures.

  • The Minister must consult with the Review Group and set its work programme at least once every two years, though the Minister may amend the programme and its duration at any time.
  • Any work programme previously set under section 70 of the Company Law Enforcement Act 2001 continues for its remaining period.
  • The Review Group holds as many meetings as needed to fulfil its functions and may regulate its own procedures, including establishing subcommittees and setting a quorum.
  • If the chairperson is absent, members elect a temporary chairperson from among themselves; any member other than the chairperson may nominate a deputy to attend a meeting in their place.
