Companies Act 2014 section 888

Authentication of documents other than by signing or sealing them

Section 888 provides that where the Act requires a document to be signed or sealed, this requirement can alternatively be met by authenticating the document in the prescribed manner.

  • Where the Companies Act requires a document to be signed or sealed, an alternative method of compliance is available.
  • The document may instead be authenticated in the prescribed manner, as set out in regulations.
  • This provision allows for modern methods of authentication beyond traditional physical signatures or company seals.
  • The prescribed manner of authentication carries the same legal validity as signing or sealing.
